Why?

Why do people always think that I want to hold babies? Yet another staff member's new baby was brought to work today and handed around for everyone to hold. I don't hold babies. It is just too hard.
Usually, I can just avoid the holding while oogling the new little one but today, they tried to put him in my arms. Yikes!!! Another staff member said "I thought for sure you would be the first one to want to hold him." Just another instance of people not having any clue what it is like to wait literally for years to have a family!! Just had to vent.

I can *totally* relate on this one. I'm sorry that some people can be so insensitive.

You can vent here to people who get it! The other day I had to deal with pregnancy stuff and I just wanted to scream. People really aren't thinking.

I too can relate to that. Depending on the day sometimes I just need to avoid the whole, hold the baby thing. Other days I am okay.

Your time is coming soon.

The wait is tough !

Awful at times.

We waited 8 years to adopt our son and then one day , all of a sudden there he was. We waited forever for our daughter too !

I hope time passes quickly until you hold your babe in your arms.
Just rememberthat once you have that little one , THIS LONG WAIT will have been worth it ...and then you will begin a new chapter in your life.

Hang in There.

While so many people have been wonderful about my adoption news, there are still people out there who just don't get it, I don't think they even think. I saw your post and just had a gut response.

A couple days ago, after learning that my sister is pregnant and that she will produce a child and have it grow to be a year old before I ever see my child... My brother-in-law's mother learned I was adopting while I was talking to a friend about it. She had that gall to butt in and say, most sarcastically, "You are adopting something". Can you believe that? SomeTHING!!! I maintained focus on my friend and chose to ignore her, I didn't want to cause a scene at my niece's birthday party. So as I was talking I she continued to say, "Someone is going to let you...." Fill in the blank. We all know what she was going to say. Luckily she stopped when she realized she was being ignored. It would not have been pretty if she finished that sentence.

Sorry this is such a long response, but I had to get it off my chest.
